Pen Resource University Gombe Matriculates 334 Students
..Warns Against Engaging In Social Vices
Pen Resource University Gombe has matriculated 334 students at its second matriculation ceremony stream one for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The matriculation ceremony was held at the University’s campus in Gombe on Saturday.
Speaking during the event, The Vice Chancellor of Pen Resources University, Gombe State Professor Amuda Yahaya , says the institution has zero tolerance to all forms of criminality and immorality.
He informed the students that, their parents entrusted them to the University to provide them with the needed leadership in education, model them in character and in learning adding that, their as lecturers would give account for their actions and inactions.
He said,“In the discharge of this responsibility, we have Zero tolerance to all acts of immorality and criminality like exam malpractice and all forms of cheating, plagiarism, immodest dressing, drunkenness, drug abuse, theft etc.
“The Pen Resource university will deal decisively with any student found to have contravened our rules concerning these or any other order of the university.”
“Finally, Let me use this opportunity to state in unequivocal terms that we look after our students with all sincerity believing that they were entrusted to us by their parents because they have confidence in us.
“We also believe that even though their parents are not always here to see how we treat them, the Almighty sees everything we do and He will hold us to account for our deeds”.
In his address, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Dr Sani Jauro (Danlawan Gombe) announced the salary review across all the cadres, explained that the institution was not oblivious of the economic hardship staff and lecturers were faced with.
He said, “In view of this the council has decided to review the salaries of all our workers. From the cleaner to Lecturer one will have 25 per cent review; senior lecturers and readers will get 30 per cent increase the Professors are going to get 35 per cent the salary review has been approved and it will be implemented on Monday”.
Jauro urged the beneficiaries of the review to appreciate the management’s magnanimity and discharge their responsibilities diligently.
