The Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party Youth Vanguard in North West Nigeria have awash the US Court with praises for ordering the immediate release of Chicago State University documents belonging to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Claimant Alhaji Atiku Abubakar a major contendant in the controversial 2023 Presidential Elections.
Rising from a day cacaus meeting in Kaduna on Thursday morning, the Coordinator Honerable Ibrahim Ahmadu said that the United States of America has always lead in Democracy and that has been justified in the consistent rulings of the US Courts over a matter of key interest in our Nigerian nascent Democracy.
Ahmadu said depites legal pressure mounted on the US Court, it ensured justice was served base on merits.
He maintained that with the exposure in the CSU documents now, the ruling party have lost out.
” Our Nigerian Jurists can now take a clue on deciding matters on merits and not sacrificing justice on the alter of technicalities” Ahmadu added.
Recall that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar PDP’s flag bearer had approach a US Court on July 11, 2023 seeking to obtain more information about Tinubu’s academic records at Chicago State University.
Documents sought by Atiku, through his attorney, Angela Liu, include records of Tinubu’s admission and acceptance at the university and dates of attendance, including degrees, awards, and honours he obtained while studying at the American varsity.
The former Nigeria’s Vice President informed the court in his petition that Tinubu subpoena was to test the truth and establish the correctness of his claims, adding that he is currently the President of Nigeria but faces a legion of petitions concerning his election and the authenticity of documents relating to his attendance at Chicago State University
