Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his emergence as Chairman of Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS).
The governor’s congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibrahim Kaula, in Katsina on Monday.
Radda described Tinubu as an exceptional leader who had dedicated his life to the service of others in both politics and public service.
He said that Tinubu’s selection as ECOWAS chairman was not only perfect but also timely, given his wealth of experience and leadership acumen.
“The Nigerian president’s expertise will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the challenges of fostering unity and progress within the West African sub-region,” Radda said.
He urged Nigerians to pray for divine strength and wisdom for the president, as he embarked on the noble endeavour.
“It is my ardent hope that God will grant him the necessary guidance and fortitude to fulfill his responsibilities effectively.
“This momentous appointment of the president as the ECOWAS chairman signifies a new chapter in the region’s pursuit of collective development and cooperation.
“On behalf of the people of Katsina State, I congratulate the president and extend my unwavering support for his future endeavours,” the governor said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Tinubu’s emergence as ECOWAS chairman was announced at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS in Guinea-Bissau on Sunday.
