Governor of Kano State, Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf has stated that, his administration will partner Private Universities within and outside the country in the area of human capital development.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Audu Nature Dawakin Tofa, the governor made the pledge when he received the president of the Association of African Private Universities Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo at the government house.
Governor Yusuf described Prof. Gwarzo as an iconic entrepreneur in education who invests and promote tertiary education despite its low return on investment.
The governor appreciated his efforts to provide affordable private university education and extended hands of partnership with the two Kano State owned universities.
Earlier, Prof. Gwarzo said he visited the governor and his deputy to present the certificate of two additional private universities he secured;; the Franco-British American University, Kaduna and Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja.
He said, when established, he would be a leading private university owner in Africa, operating four universities in Kano, Maradi, Kaduna and Abuja.
The Edu-preneur also promised to support the two state owned universities to promote learning, character and research in a conducive atmosphere.
