A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and islamic cleric in Bauchi state Malam Sadiqu Inuwa Zubairu has urged the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to reappoint the outgoing minister of education Adamu Adamu as his cabinet member representing the state.
Sadiqu in a press release he issued yesterday alleged that Adamu has not done anything tangible to the party in the state in his tenure as minister.
He also alleged that the minister who is the leader of the party in the state has orchestrated the ouster of the state party chairman despite ‘his failure to be attending party activities’.
According to him, even during the party congresses, the outgoing education minister did not turn up for it but allegedly gave orders on phone on who to be elected the party new officials.
The party stalwart added that another issue threatening the reappintment of Adamu as a member of the federal executive council in the new administration was his poor handling of the lecturers’ strike which made universities to remain closed for a long time.
“One of his numerous problems was on the eve of the 2023 elections. He has not been participating in party activities for seven years but he orchestrated the removal of the state party chairman.
“During party congress, he did not attend it but he called from the comfort of his home and nominated who to be elected and who not”. He lamented.
He therefore called on the president -elect to opt for other party men more loyal to the party as members of the cabinet from the state.
