The Zamfara chapter of the Northern Youths Assembly (NYA), has commended the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Its Chairman, Mr Mannir Haidara, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Thursday.
NAN reports that the INEC had on Wednesday distributed sensitive materials for the polls to the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.
Haidara said that the early preparedness by INEC for the 2023 general elections in the country would guarantee credible polls.
The chairman also lauded Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the New Naira policy, saying that it would contribute in ensuring the election of credible leaders for the country.
“I believe the CBN policy is inline with President Muhammad Buhari’s commitments to ensure credible elections.
“The NMA as an NGO working towards promoting transparency and accountability in the society is always behind policies guaranteeing the future of Nigerians,” he added.
Haidara called on youths in the state to be law abiding before, during the after the general elections.
“Youths as leaders of tomorrow, we should maintain law and order, we must embrace peace and stability.
“We should come out en masse to vote for credible candidates for the elective positions,” Haidara urged.
He called on people of the state to cooperate with INEC and security operatives in order to ensure the sustenance of peace and stability during as well as after the polls.
