The Mass Communication Department of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has elected new Head Of Department (HOD) in the person of Shamsu Abdu Dauda.
Shamu, a senior lecturer in the school holds Master of Arts in Communications from Universiti Utara, Malaysia and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Association of Communication Scholars and Professional of Nigeria (ACSPN) and African Council For Communication Education (ACCE).
He was also a winner of Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Communication and Media 2016 (i-COME’16).
Leadership reports that the senior lecturer was elected unopposed as the new head of the department by his colleagues after the expiration of the three years tenure of his predecessor Bello Madaki Beli.
In his acceptance speech, Shamsu promised to work vigorously to uplift the department he described as the image maker for the polytechnic to the highest level of academic excellence.
“I wish to thank you all, my great colleagues, for this mandate and confidence given to me. This task is not mine alone, but that of all of us. We must all, therefore, rally round and ensure that the Department of Mass Communication continue to rise to the highest levels of academic excellence, and make The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi and the Mass Communication family proud”. He said.
