Ahead of the upcoming general elections, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has declared that his administration will execute more development projects in the state if he is re-elected in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
He made the promise on Saturday, while canvassing for votes in Lamurde and Numan Local Government Areas and commissioning of an electricity project in Bare community.
Gov. Fintiri said, his administration has connected many communities with electricity over the past three and a half years and that more communities will be connected.
The Governor pleaded with the people of Lamurde and Numan’s to support him once more adding that, the State had transformed changed in a number of sectors under his administration which include security, education, and healthcare, among others.
According to him, his government would continue to ensure peaceful coexistence between the Lunguda and Waja communities, among other tribes in the area particularly in Lafiya Lamurde, where lingering intertribal conflicts disturbing the area.
Responding to request from the Lafiya Community, Governor Fintiri said the Government has already purchased a 500 KVA transformer which would be installed in the area, while more classrooms will be constructed in their school.
He further stated that security had been maintained in Bare and Imburu, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri adding that plans are also on the ground to connect Kwakupe to the national grid.
At the commission of the electricity projects provided by his administration, he urged them to guard the facilities for their benefits.
Speaking at the campaign rally in Numan, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta urged her kinsmen to reciprocate Governor Fintiri’s gesture to the Bachama Kingdom by picking her as his running mate in the forthcoming elections.
On their part, the State Director General and Secretary of the PDP Campaign Council, Hon. Barr. Awwal D. Tukur and Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, urged them to collect their PV for those who had not yet done so.
In their separate remarks, Tthe Executive Chairmen of Lamurde and Numan Local Government Councils, Hon. Bulus Daniel and Hon. Christopher Sofore, praised Governor Fintiri for restoring peace and stability in the areas with extraordinary developmental projects.
Also speaking separately, the members representing Lamude in the State House of Assembly, Bauna Myandasa and Moris Vonobolki, assured Governor Fintiri of their massive support of their people, and urged him to keep up the spirit of making the state great.
Governor Fintiri earlier visited the Numan palace of Hama Bachama, Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila, to seek his fatherly blessings.
Highlights of the campaign rallies were the receiving of decampees from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other opposition political parties by the State PDP Chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu, as well as the display of various cultural dances.
