Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun of Zamfara State has accused some disgruntled politicians of using a section of Civil Society Organisations (Chaos) to smear the good name and image of the Director General (DG) Department of State Security, Yusuf Bichi and the service.
He said the DG happened to be one of the highly dignified and respected gentleman of the highest order in the country and should be allowed to do his job in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution, rather than using politics to bring disrepute to the patriotic Nigerian and the security service.
Governor Matawalle noted that, Bichi has been discharging his constitutional responsibilities without fear or favor to bring sanity in all sectors of the nation’s socio-economic and political spheres.
He therefore urged the DG DSS to continue to provide the necessary leadership to salvage the country from the menace of some few, unscrupulous Nigerians who want to destabilise the peaceful coexistence built by the country’s founding fathers for their selfish interest.
According to him, Governors having security concerns in their states know the role being played by Yusuf Bichi and the service in tackling the security challenges in those states.
He promised to continue giving the DG all the necessary support and encouragement to continue with the good job he has been doing to save the country from anarchy and disintegration.
Gov Matawalle called on President Muhammadu Buhari to give the DGl the necessary backing and the support the State Security Service needs to discharge their constitutional responsibilities without interference.
