Janna Health Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, on Saturday distributed food and non-food items to 120 widows in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa.
The Founder of the organisation, Dr Stephen John stated this while presenting the items to the beneficiaries on Saturday in Michika, Adamawa.
He said the gesture was to provide succor to the widows selected from Misiki, Wuro Ngiki, Moda Dlaka and Madzi communities.
He noted that most of the widows faced difficulties and could not cater for their daily needs.
According to John, the foundation has been providing succor to thousands of people, especially those affected by the insurgency in the past two years. .
In his remarks, District Head of Michika, Alhaji Dahiru Baba commended the gesture, adding that it would impact positively on the lives of the beneficiaries.
He urged other organisations and wealthy individuals to emulate the gesture and assist the less privileged in the society.
One of the beneficiaries, Ms Na’omi John expressed appreciations over the gesture, adding it would improve their wellbeing.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that each of the beneficiaries received 15 Kilogramme bag of rice, 1.5 liter of vegetable oil, one packet of seasoning and four soaps.
