Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara on Monday promised to provide massive human and infrastructural development in the state, if re-elected for a second term as governor of the state.
Matawalle made the promise at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign rally in Maru town, the headquarters of Maru Local Government Area of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the campaign rally recorded a large turn out of APC supporters from the 14 Llocal Government Areas of the state.
Matawalle said he would continue with the major infrastructural development projects across the state initiated by his administration.
“We plan to generate employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the state through various youths and women empowerment programmes.
“Our administration since our emergence in the state had impacted lives of our people at the grassroots through an array of projects across health, education and empowerment sectors.
“As we all know, my administration had employed many youths and women, thus drastically reduced redundancy, poverty and unemployment pressure among the people of the state,” Matawalle said.
In his remarks, the Chairman, APC governorship campaign council and former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari, commended the turn out of APC supporters in the campaign rallies.
“This is a strong indicator that APC remained strong political party in the state, urging party stakeholders to work for its victory of the party in the general elections.
“I am appealing to the people of the state to use what APC administration has done for the state in the past as a measure to vote Matawalle and all APC candidates,”the former governor added.
Yari urged people of Zamfara to vote for Matawalle for the continuation of the ongoing meaningful development projects across the state.
According to him, the party has planned massive grassroots and urban development across the 147 political wards of the state, if it secures re-election.
