An NGO, F-Ship Foundation, has distributed free school uniforms to 150 pupils of Mission Primary School, Jabbi-Lamaba in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa.
The beneficiaries are victims of insurgency living in Internally Displaced Peoples Camp.
Speaking at the distribution of the uniforms on Friday, Mrs Wilbina Jackson, Adamawa Commissioner for Education, lauded the NGO for its efforts and concerns for educational development in the state.
She noted that the pupils were in need of support to go to school and enjoined other philanthropists to emulate the foundation and support government to ensure improved quality of education in the state.
In his remarks, Mr Friday Iyabosa, Head of the foundation said the gesture was to support the pupils and complement government’s efforts at ensuring quality and affordable education.
He said the foundation had provided intervention in various sectors, especially in education in the last three years.
“We provided writing materials at Malkohi Internally Displaced Peoples camp.
“We provided water and wall fence at Bwaronji Primary School in Yola North Local Government Area in addition to school informs,’’ he said.
Also speaking at the occasion, Rev. Stephen Mamza, Adamawa chapter chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, noted that victims of insurgency needed the support of all.
He expressed appreciation of the foundation’s gesture and prayed to God to reward its members.
