An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, on Thursday sentenced two men, Dayo Olatunji, 22 and Lekan Akande,23, to six months imprisonment each for stealing mobile phone valued at N75,000.
The Police charged the convicts, whose addresses were not provided, with stealing and conspiracy, which they pleaded guilty.
In her judgment, the Magistrate, Mrs A.O.Adeyemi, sentenced the duo to six months imprisonment each with option of N5, 000 fines.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convicts committed the offences at Sango-Ota.
Adaraloye said that they conspired among themselves to steal a Vivo Android mobile phone valued at N75,000 belonging to the complainant, Chidi Ajeh.
He added that it was the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) that revealed the convicts were the ones who stole the phone from where the complainant was charging it.
The Prosecutor said that the offences contravened the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
