Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has inaugurated the Zamfara State the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Councils.
Press Secretary to the Governor,Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji disclosed this in a statement stating that, the governor inaugurated the campaign councils on Friday.
Quoting the governor during his address, Governor Bello Matawalle described the inauguration as a joyous moment considering the calibre of men and women that were carefully selected to spearhead the 2023 Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaigns of the APC in Zamfara State.
He disclosed that, the Presidential Campaign Council is headed by Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa as the State Coordinator, while the Gubernatorial Campaign Council is headed by His Excellency, former Governor of Zamfara State Dr Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as Chairman.
Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura is the Director General of the Gubernatorial Campaign Council in Zamfara State, and the Secretariat would be headed by Professor Abdullahi Mohammed Shinkafi.
The governor said after careful and wide consultations, it was decided that the great and historical mission of mobilising support for the APC to attain the desired victory in the 2023 polls, the campaign councils should be headed by distinguished and illustrious personalities in the state.
He informed the campaign councils members that they have been chosen to partake in this great and historic mission in recognition of their proven integrity, willingness to make sacrifice for the State and Country, and commitment to the cause of their respective local communities and the party in general.
He said, “You have before you a spectacular opportunity to lend your valuable contributions to the mission of charting a brighter future for our State and country, I am confident that you have the capacity and all it takes to ensure the victory of the APC in the 2023 general elections”.
He urged them to ensure that all electioneering activities are conducted within the ambit of the law, particularly the Electoral Act 2023.
Governor Matawalle enjoined them to mobilise all the resources at their disposal to convey to the wider public the mission and vision of the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said, they should convince all people in the state and let them know that Tinubu is illustrious personality, doyen of contemporary Nigerian politics and a bridge builder who has a great mission of taking Nigeria to higher development pedestals.
He advised that, to devise a good and formidable campaign strategy, they should make wider consultations with all stakeholders including community leaders, religious leaders, trade groups and all interested groups that wish to lend their contributions towards achieving the desired objectives.
The Governor added, it has been the mission and commitment to building a new Zamfara State right from day one.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah, that “despite all the challenges we are confronted with, we have done a lot to bring a new lease of life for the people of the state, we are winning the battle against banditry by the day.
Responding on behalf of the Chairman, Director General, Directors of the Directorate of the Campaign Councils, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa expressed confidence that with the calibre of people appointed into the campaign Councils, APC in Zamfara State will win the 2023 general elections overwhelmingly across the state.
Senator Marafa said with the recent reconciliation made in the party in the state, APC has now became a big family, and assured to justify the confidence reposed in them.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by His Excellency, the former Governor of Zamfara State Hon Dr Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar Shettiman Zamfara, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, State APC Chairman Alhaji Tukur Danfulani and State Executive Members of the party, eminent party chieftains and Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna.
Others include; Chief of Staff Government House Gusau, Malam Ibrahim Suleiman, Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Jalaluddeen Maradun, State Head of Service Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, Honourable Commissioners and Special Advisers, permanent secretaries and other senior Government officials.
