Less that 24 hours after the Federal High Court, Gusau nullifies the election of the Zamfara State PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Dauda Lawal Dare, his Madawaki ward Chairman, Yahaya Magaji has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to support Governor Bello Matawalle.
APC State Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau in a statement on Wednesday informed that, the ward Chairman was received by the state APC leader in Zamfara state, Governor Bello Matawalle at the Government House, Gusau on Tuesday.
According to him, the ward chairman’s defection was another influx of PDP members in their thousands into the APC and being received by the governor since last week.
The statement added that, alot of PDP members have been trooping in their large numbers to the APC revealing how they suffered in the PDP which they said lacks internal democracy, focus and strategies to move the state forward.
Speaking, the former Madawaki ward PDP Chairman, Yahaya Magaji said he decided to defect to the APC because of Governor Matawalle’s focused and visionary leadership aimed at transforming Zamfara State
The ward chairman tore his PDP membership card which he has been holding for over 20 years and deregistered his name from the PDP register.
He revealed that the sacked PDP Governorship candidate, Dauda Lawal Dare’s name is not registered in the Madawaki ward party register and that he was only a ghost PDP member.
Magaji said nullifying the PDP primary election by Federal High Court, Gusau is the triumph of truth over the falsehood being perpetrated by the PDP at high level adding that more political calamity will continue to befall the PDP.
The event was attended by the State APC Chairman, Hon Tukur Umar Danfulani, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, Ambassador Hussaini Moriki, Hon.Usman Dankalili, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe.
Others were; Chief of Staff, Mallam Ibrahim Sulaiman Gusau, Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka, Alhaji Shehu Isah, party leaders, aupporters and well wishers.
