Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun, Shattiman Sakkwato) has received 52 PDP decampee groups into the ruling APC in Gusau over the weekend.
This was revealed by his Special Adviser
Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, Zailani Bappa in a statement.
According to the statement, 50 groups came under the auspices of political groups, include; Women Frontier For Matawalle led by Hadiza Rufa’i Imam and Matan Aure in support For Dauda led by Shafa’atu Abubakar.
It added that, two other groups led by appointed leaders, Hafsat Khadi and Dr Abdulrahman Ibrahim we’re also received into the party by the governor.
The statement added that, Hajiya Hadiza, who led the Women Frontier told the Governor that the movement was her creation presented to the governor over 300 from Daza and Tamburawa villages of Bungudu Local Government, who were all card carrying members of the PDP.
On her part, Shafa’atu Abubakar led a coalition of Convertee Umbrellas of Dauda Solidarity, Kungiyar Dauda Twitter Forum, Dauda Face to Face and Matan Aure in Support of Dauda to the governor.
Similarly, Dr Abdulrahman and Hafsat Khadi led 24 PDP Association Forum and Eleven Ward PDP Supporters from Gusau Local Government Area.
One of the decampees was the Secretary of the Committee that implemented the much trumpeted Scholarship award of the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate to the Republic Togo who said that, the scholarship scheme was a hoax.
He said, “I want to assure you, Your Excellency, this scholarship is a fraud. Right now, the students are in real dilemma, facing untold hardship out there”.
The groups promised to work hard in dispelling the propaganda being spread that the APC is a Muslim Party because of its Muslim-Muslim ticket.
They presented a group of non-indigenes who imbibed the spirit of the campaign and believed in his developmental strides in the state and decided to support the APC.
Responding, Governor Bello Mohammed commended all the groups for their foresight in abandoning what he described as the sinking ship.
He said that he was coming from that Party who’s pride was his support to it and now that he is no longer there, every real politician will eventually join him in the APC.
He said, “The whole of the Governors in the state and all powerful and respected people who contributed to the development of the state are now in the APC. Politically speaking, I wonder what a responsible person who loves our dear state at heart will still be doing outside the APC”.
He urged them and all other people in Zamfara State to elect the APC from top to buttom in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
