Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani has stepped aside from her position as the Adamawa State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) coordinator.
It was learnt that, the Senator announced her resignation in a personally signed statement, after the state leadership of the party led by Samaila Tadawus accused her of single handedly appointing members of the PCC in the state by sidelining the party.
The statement reads, “Senator Aishatu Binani steps aside as Adamawa State Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Coordinator pending the outcome of Appeal Court case filed. The PCC is urged to appoint an interim coordinator in the meantime”.
Binani was said to be unhappy with the remark made by some party members against her and other party stakeholders including former Governor Murtala Nyako and others.
The Adamawa state chapter of the party had earlier in a statement signed by the party’s acting state chairman, Samaila Tadawus, rejected the APC Presidential Campaign Council submitted by Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani.
It urged its members and party stakeholders to disregard the list.
The statement reads: “The APC, Adamawa state chapter, surprisingly stumbled over a list of alleged state Presidential Campaign Council members in circulation in the social media and some national dailies dated 31st October, 2022, as public announcement.
“They said the list emanated from Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed as Adamawa state coordinator, who singlehandedly generated the list without consulting the party at both state and local governments levels for necessary inputs and final approval.
