The National body of the A-Fatihiyya Association of Nigeria has endorsed the candidature of the APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state for the 2023 general elections.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the governor, Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji on Thursday states that, the Association members unanimously announced the endorsement when the National body of the organization paid a solidarity visit to Governor Bello Matawalle at the Government House, Gusau.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Shura Council of the organization, Alhaji Nuru Murtala Zawiyya said, the decision to endorse the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Bello Matawalle’s tickets come 2023, was borne out of the assessment of the two leaders who they said have proven integrity and have contributed in solving the problems of Nigeria as a Nation.
He added that, their visit was to express their appreciation and profound gratitude over the assistance rendered by the Governor to the Association and in addressing the issues security of the state.
Zawiyya pledged the group’s readiness to ensure that all Al-fahiyya members and followers vote massively for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Bello Matawalle in Zamfara state and all APC candidates across the country.
He said, “Your Excellency, our dear and dynamic Governor, friend and leader per excellence, we have not come here for politics, rather we have come here to thank you for all what you have done for us and people of Zamfara state, and at the same time to inform you that the entire members of Al-fahiyya Association of Nigeria and by extension our Tijjaniya sect in general, we are one hundred percent solidly behind your candidature come 2023, we also declare our full support to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all your APC candidates in the State”.
Also speaking, the National Chairman of the group Alhaji Shehu Mairiga informed the Governor that Al-fahiyya extraction across the country is solidly behind the Governor which they described as peace maker, bridge builder and silent achiever who is the only hope for the people of Zamfara State.
Mairiga commended Governor Bello Matawalle for standing firm to protect people of the state and provide security not only in Zamfara state but entire northwest, pointing out that as an Islamic organization, they will continue to pray and support the Governor’s success.
In his response,Governor Bello Matawalle commended the Group for finding him worthy of the visit and the award of excellence presented to him as the best Governor in security transformation.
He said he is fully aware of the maximum support the Al-fahiyya Association of Nigeria is giving to the development of Zamfara state and indeed the country in general, saying their prayers and support are contributing significantly in achieving peace and tranquility in the state and the Northern part of the country.
Governor Matawalle appreciated the group for endorsing his candidature and that of the APC Presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He assured them that as leaders they will continue to do everything humanly possible to uplift the organization.
He said, “You have shown me support for several years, and I consider it a duty as a leader to support and encourage you as an Islamic organization for you to succeed in all your activities”.
He further informed the delegation that as their Grand Commander, he directed all Al-Fahiyya members across the country to work tirelessly for the success of APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
