The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore, has disclosed that, he is confident the people of Kano will vote for his party in the 2023 general elections.
Sowore who spoke to NAN shortly after he kicks off his presidential campaign in Kano on Friday adding that, he launched his campaign in Kano because Kano is the ‘People’s Assembly’.
Sowore’s vice presidential running mate, Haruna Garba Magashi is a Lawyer from Kano State.
Sowore said, “We are very confident that with the people’s support and partnership, the AAC shall build for the Nigerian people, a nation that they will be very proud.
“We will traverse the length and breadth of our country, inspiring and uniting our people to flush out corrupt politicians and redeem the country”.
Sowore said, the country’s economy is in shambles and things are being worsened by high unemployment, low wages, crippling inflation, and meager social investments that are driving people further into poverty.
He assured Nigerians that his party will improve public education and increase investment in critical infrastructure especially energy.
The AAC Presidential candidate unveiled the party’s manifesto on Saturday in company of his vice presidential candidate, Garba Magashi, and the gubernatorial candidate Sani Yakasai.
The Manifesto was unveiled at the Kano State Anti-Corruption Institute which he said is a clear indication of the AAC’s commitment to fighting corruption.
He said, the Sowore/Magashi ticket has drawn up revolutionary programmes to secure the country.
Sowore also opposed the redesigning of the Naira by the Buhari administration, saying that, it will further worsen the nation’s economy.
