An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, Dalori Vanguard Movement has reiterated that, the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket presented by the party was based on competence.
The group disclosed this at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday adding that, it also an antithesis to the negative political trend in the country where people consider the religious and ethnic identities of candidates that their competence and credibility.
National coordinator of the group, Ukkasha Hamza Rahama while addressing the press conference, said, the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate is the best best for the party.
According to him, the APC Presidential candidate is a renowned Nigerian who have been rendering service to humanity through politics of inclusion and human development.
He added that, Tinubu has built political bridges from South down to the North which made him a true reflection of the symbol of National unity anchored on building a United and prosperous nation in which competence and credibility are used as yardstick not religious, ethnic or regional identities.
The group added, “This seems to be the party’s best bet to winning the 2023 general elections as any other consideration would spell danger for the party at the polls. Tinubu/Kashim Ticket acceptability and popularity from all and sundry in the Nigeria is unwavering and will give our party victory in the 2023 general elections.
“The pair of His Excellemcy Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and His Excellency Senator Kashim Shetima has added value to our great party Presidential Ticket and signaling a strong direction to victory in the 2023 General Election”.
The group said, it remains committed to the APC Presidential candidate democratic vision for allowing credibility and competency to guide his choice of Senator Kashim Shetima as his Vice Presidential running mate.
The group further added, “The choice of the former Governor of Borno State Senator Kashim Shetima has rewrites the history of Nigeria especially now that the bigotry of tribes and religion has consumed the veins of the Nigerian politics making it difficult for us to strive as a nation.
“Our constitution has made it clear that it is the right of the Presidential candidate to nominate his running mate in elections and His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done exactly what the law required in picking Senator Kashim Shetima”.
The group therefore congratulates the APC for the successful unveiling of the action plan for a better Nigeria tagged: “Renewed Hope 2023” which will build on the gains of the Buhari administration while adding new ideas that will deliver democratic dividends and value to all Nigerians.
