The Zamfara state government has approved the immediate reopening of Gummi, Anka and Bukkuyum local governments, as well as all the towns, roads and markets in the three local governments.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Zamfara state Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara on Monday.
According to the statement, the approval followed the satisfactory reports received on security situation in the affected communities.
It could be recalled that, the state government recently closed the three local government areas as well as some villages and roads due to heightened insecurity in some parts of the state.
It reads, “In view of the above, Government has lifted the embargo it enforced on political activities in the state.
“However, people are advised to conduct themselves in accordance with the rule of law, as government will not condone any act capable of distrubting the peace and tranquility being restored by our gallant security operatives.
“The state government under the leadership of His Excellency Hon (Dr Bello Mohammed Matawllen Maradun, Shatiman Sokoto will not compromise its constitutional responsibilities to the people of the state.
“The government reassures the people of the state its commitment and determination to protect lives and property of the citizens”.
