The All Nigeria Football Players Union led by Ex International, Abdul Sule, on Wednesday, 31st August, appointed the President of high-flying Mailantarki Care Football Academy (MCFA), Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, as the players’ union pioneer Patron.
The topmost position of the Union was conferred on the Gombe State NNPP gubernatorial candidate following his massive successes recorded within a short spell after venturing into the football industry within a year of establishing his football academy aimed at helping talented players to excel in the footballing career across the globe.
Before presenting the appointment letter to Mailantarki, the union President, Abdul Sule, said ANFPU board of trustees found Mailantarki worthy of the position due to the remarkable successes he garnered within a year in the football sphere.
“We at the executive level as well as the board of trustees unanimously agreed to appoint this Man of Success, His Excellency Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, the owner of Mailantarki Care Football Academy,” Sule said.
He acknowledged that Mailantarki was able to set records such as the glorious outings in the International Youth Championship in Denmark and Norway, represented FCT at the National AITEO Cup, topped its NLO group and set up an NNL promotional play-off.
“The highly determined former federal lawmaker achieves all the aforementioned feats with his resources,” the ANFPU president acknowledged further, adding, “We need people with passion and willingness like him to be involved in decision making for the progress of the game in general.”
In his response, Mailantarki expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for guiding him to establish a football academy that is now attracting the attention of most of the stakeholders in the country and beyond following the significant successes recorded so far.
“I’m honored to be part of this great union to serve in the capacity of Patron,” Mailantarki said, assuring, “This recognition and appointment will serve as a catalyst for myself and the team at large in order to gear up for more glorious outcomes in addition to what we have achieved so far as mentioned earlier.”
He disclosed: “My passion to engage our youth with potentials out there in the streets for advancement inspired me to establish this football academy and today we give thanks to Almighty Allah for what we have accomplished in terms of recruitments and transfer of players to European clubs.
Mailantarki assured that with a high profile football manager in the academy, Manu Garba, the future of our football players would always be bright.
“We are going to join hands together with other stakeholders and see how we can go about strengthening the union for the good of our players across all levels in the country,” he said adding, “I will be always available within my capacity as the patron to see how I can contribute for the development of this great union that tends at ensuring the welfare of its members respectively.”
Stakeholders present at the events include ex- Golden Eaglet gaffer Manu Garba OON, Head Coach of National Team U-15 Usman Elerika, President of FC Yarmalight Malam Farouk Yarma, Coach Bassey, Barr Isaac, among others.
