A group of women in Adamawa State under the auspices of Youth and Women’s Campaign Organization for Fintiri and Binos from Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area have expressed support for the second term bid of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The group, which paid a courtesy visit on Governor Fintiri in Yola on Wednesday, 3rd August, promised to mobilize support for his reelection by the entire Adamawa electorate.
The group leader, Mrs Laraba Kefas, said the support stemmed from the governor’s performance, especially bringing relief to the less privileged households by ensuring free education for their children.
Mrs Kefas thanked Governor Fintiri for carrying women along in his administration, recalling how the previous administration appointed a man as the State Commissioner of Women’s Affairs and Social Development, which did not express gender inclusiveness.
Speaking, Governor Fintiri expressed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of youths and women, urging them to continue to rally round the government in order for more development to thrive in the State.
He reassured that the government will continue to provide free education and Vocational training to children and youths, noting that this will reduce poverty and anxiety in society.
Fintiri revealed that his administration is still held accountable for prudent resources management and urged members of the group to rally round the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is poised to address insecurity, among other issues plaguing the country.
The Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe of Adamawa State Southern Zone in the National Assembly, and PDP candidate for Toungo, Ganye, Jada, and Mayo-Belwa Federal Constituency, Mohammed Inuwa Bassey, were among those in attendance.
