The Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido, has announced plans to position the state on a 35-year trajectory towards economic independence if elected governor.
Lamido in an exclusive interview with the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC Tuesday, morning, said with the help of experts and critical stakeholders in the Jigawa project, he would fashion out the comprehensive economic transformation trajectory to be followed from 2023 to 2059.
“My plan is that by 2059, Jigawa State should economically independent,” Lamido declared.
“I’ll in collaboration with all the stakeholders, experts, as well as traditional and religious leaders to provide job opportunities to our teeming youths,” he said.
Lamido promised to ensure that the teeming youths in the state secure reliable means of livelihood by creating job opportunities.
“I’ll face-lift the moribund industries and create new ones in the state to help provide jobs and economic stimulations,” he promised.
