The Police on Wednesday, arraigned a 46-year-old man, Boboye Segun, in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a generator.
Segun, of no fixed address, is on trial on a charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Elijah Adejare, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 17, at about 02:00 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti.
Adejare alleged that the defendant stole one generator valued at N510,000 belonging to Aromokeye Pharmacy.
He said the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor prayed the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble witnesses.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Emmanuel Sumonu, urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump same.
The Magistrate, Mr Tomiwa Daramola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Daramola adjourned the case until July 20, for further hearing.
