As the country inches towards the 2023 general elections, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on Nigerians to obtain their permanent voters card (PVC) to enable the country produce credible leaders through an impressive voter turnout.
Speaking at a town hall gathering in Hong Local Government Area, Saturday, June 18, Fintiri also appealed to Nigerians to elect PDP candidates at all levels of the elections.
He tasked Hong elders to mobilize youngsters and prevail on them to avoid political thuggery.
The governor stated that the town hall meeting was held to examine the impact of programmes and policies implemented by his administration with the goal of revising them according to emerging needs.
Fintiri highlighted his administration’s accomplishments in areas such as security, youth and women’s empowerment, financial autonomy for local government councils, housing, and free education.
He said his administration was able to construct over 300km of rural roads across the state, construct over 5,000 classrooms, upgrade and modernize all the State’s general hospitals, and introduce free medical care.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman of Hong LGA, Ibrahim Datti, assured Gov. Fintiri of the people’s support, as well as massive votes for all PDP candidates in the 2023 General Elections.
In their separate remarks, the chairmen of the Muslim Council and Christian Association of Nigeria in the area, Mallam Usman Umar Shall and Reverend Dean Harrison, both praised Governor Fintiri for running an inclusive government.
Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, among other speakers from diverse groups, commended Gov. Fintiri for providing democratic dividends that had a greater impact on the lives of Hong residents.
