The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, says election of Sen. Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential flag-bearer in 2023 is an attestation to a life committed to hard work and sacrifices for others.
The APC Chairman in Lagos state, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, made the remarks while congratulating Tinubu for his victory at the party’s presidential primary election in Abuja on Wednesday.
In a congratulatory message on Thursday, Ojelabi said that Tinubu’s victory was for all progressives, who believed that Nigeria would return to greatness.
“The election of Tinubu as the APC flag-bearer in the 2023 general elections is indeed an attestation of a life committed to hard work, consistence, steadfastness, large-heartedness and sacrificing for others.
“Tinubu’s emergence is well-deserved and timely, haven dedicated his life to human capacity development and sacrificial giving.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel for this nation with Tinubu at the helms of affairs. Certainly, we can see hope for the nation and the masses,” he said.
The chairman described Tinubu”s victory as landslide and a testimony of his political sagacity and doggedness.
Ojelabi said that Tinubu had remained a strong pillar of democracy and a builder of leaders, who had sacrificed a lot for others to fulfil destiny.
“The landmark victory recorded by our father, mentor and National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is for progressives, who believe that Nigeria can be back to greatness.
“It is for the unity, progress and more development of the country. Your antecedents and track records testify to this and many more.
“On behalf of my family and Lagos State Executives of APC, l congratulate our father, a strong pillar of democracy and a builder of leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on your victory as our party flag bearer in the 2023 General Elections,” Ojelabi said.
Ojelabi added that Tinubu remained a tested and trusted strategist, who could provide the nation, the leadership it deserved at this critical time.
Ojelabi urged all party stakeholders and members to get the house together and work for the party so as to ensure victory for Tinubu in 2023.
“It is not yet over, we have just crossed the first bridge, we must join hands together to mobilise voters to vote APC in 2023. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot do it alone, he needs our support for us to smile,” he added.
He thanked the state government under the leadership of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for support to ensure the feat for Tinubu.
The chairman also commended delegates from the state for loyalty and commitment to the actualisation of the ‘Asiwaju Project’ at the primary election.
Ojelabi urged APC members in Lagos state to continue to show huge support for the party as the 2023 general elections approached.
“I sincerely appreciate you all for your loyalty and commitment to the cause. I am really proud of you.
“This is just the beginning; we need to do more as we approach the general elections, our bond must be tighter.”
Tinubu, a two-term governor of Lagos state, on Wednesday emerged the presidential candidate of APC for the 2023 elections.
