Ahead of the upcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries, the former senate president and presidential aspirant under the party, Bukola Saraki has urged delegates to shun sentiments and look out for agility, capability and combined experience as they decide the party’s flag bearer.
Saraki made the call Thursday in Gombe when he visited the state to meet with delegates.
According to him, his experience in legislative and executive arms of government had acquainted him with leadership skills to lead Nigeria.
Saraki promised that if elected, his administration will be characterised by all inclusiveness, youth and women participation.
“Put sentiments aside, look and asess all aspirants, decide and consider for your vote who is most agile and intelligent.
“I know how executive works having been governor for eight years and I know how legislature works as senate president. Please give me the ticket.” He begged the delegates.
He claimed that the country was better under the PDP alleging that poverty rate in the nation under the present administration of Muhammadu Buhari has risen to 35 per cent as against 10 per cent under PDP.
He therefore asked Nigerians to bring back the party come 2023.
