As political activities heighten speed toward the 2023 elections, a former Jigawa State Governor, Ibrahim saminu Turaki, may defect from the governing All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Turaki was the former senator representing Jigawa North Central Senatorial District.
An impeccable source told Daylight Reporters that Senator Turaki held a two-hour closed-door meeting with the former Jigawa State Governor and PDP strongman, Alhaji Sule Lamido at his home town, Bamaina, on Sunday, 15th May.
The source said: “It is true that saminu was at Bamaina for a closed door meeting with Lamido and his son, Mustapha Sule Lamido, and we all the stakeholders, were invited by sule Lamido to his Kano house for a crucial meeting with saminu Turaki.”
The source confidently stated: “I am sure Saminu is going to decamp today but it is not announced officially that saminu has decamped to our party PDP officially.”
He stressed confidently that sequel to his meeting with Lamido, Saminu Turaki will declare his intention to dump APC for PDP and make formal declaration to contest for the Jigawa North-Central senatorial seat on the platform of his new party in the 2023 elections.
