Ten different traders groups under the Gombe State Market Association, have purchased expression of interest and nomination forms of N20 million for Bala Bello Tinka to contest the 2023 Gombe North Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
Speaking at the presentation ceremony of the form yesterday in Gombe, Mohammed Bello, Director General Bala Bello Tinka campaign says the form was purchased by 10 different groups under the Association.
He said the groups purchased the form following their quest to improve the fortunes of the people of Gombe North Senatorial District which comprises five Local Government Areas namely: Gombe, Funakaye, Nafada, Dukku and Kwami.
He said Tinka is from Kwami LGA and Kwami was the only LGA out of the five in the North Senatorial District that had been deprieved representation at the National Assembly since 2001 after the death of the first member of House of Representatives from the LGA.
He said the remaining four LGAs had their own share Kwami is the only LGA left and it has the second largest population in the senatorial zone after Gombe LGA.
He expressed optimism that Tinka is the people’s choice and he is going to win the party primaries “ We believe with what we have seen today, Tinka will emerge victorious at the primaries as the people have spoken,” he said.
Alh.Bala Bello Tinka the aspirant said he was overwhelmed by the crowd that came to show their support for him “ you can see the enthusiasm, love how people were excited.
He said he has been a politician for over a decade “ the only problem is I was not opportuned to be a candidate but I hope this time around it would be a successful outing.
He said if given the chance to serve his people “ I will ensure that my constituents do not regret sending me to represent them,” he said.
He thanked the Traders Association for the sacrifice made on his behalf to purchase a nomination form” I am indeed humbled for your show of love and the gesture will be reciprocated in a special way,” he said.
Earlier speaking Alhaji Yahaya Manga Chairman Gombe Market Association said the group decided to reciprocate Bala Bello Tinka gesture by contributing money to purchase the form for him.
He said Tinka has contributed to the society in so many ways even before he joined politics “ On behalf of the Market Association we pledged our total support to Tinka.
“ And we are ready to spend our money for him as well as our moral support to ensure that he succeeds,” he said.
