A frontline aspirant for the governorship seat in Jigawa State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, has clinched the party candidature for the 2023 elections.
He is the son of the former governor of the state and PDP juggernaut, Alhaji Sule Lamido.
Alh Mustapha Sule Lamido described his clearance for the candidature as “a good step towards greatness for the good people of Jigawa State.”
He stated this while chatting with journalists immediately after the screening which held, Thursday in Abuja.
According to him, the exercise has renewed hopes that good things are coming to Jigawa through the PDP.
Mustapha expressed delight that the party had ensured due process and exhibited open-door approach to screening which is a sign of victory for the party in the North West Zone and Nigeria come 2023.
Alh Mustapha Sule Lamido, who is also the San Turakin Dutse, said with the way the party was carrying everyone along and unifying members, he was optimistic that the PDP would have a clean sweep in Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
He appealed to residents of Jigawa State to be guided as the election year draws near, adding that “capacity, antecedents and people-oriented programmes and policies should take the centre stage when making choices in a democracy, saying, “this is what I represent and will bring to the table come 2023 by Allah’s Grace.”
