The immediate past governor of Gombe state Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo on Saturday returned to the state after three years he had been outside the state.
Dankwambo who arrived at the state capital at 2pm was received by his teeming supporters, members and chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state who accompanied him from airport to the party secretariat.
The former governor while appreciating the party members who trooped out to receive him donated a cash of N6 million naira to party officials in the 11 local governments of the state.
Later in an interview with newsmen, Dankwambo said he would spend some days in the state to interact with his people, asses the performance of the state government in the areas of security, projects and human development and express his view on that.
Our correspondent reports that the former governor contested for senator representing Gombe north in 2023 on leaving office, but lost to the incumbent senator Sa’idu Alkali in the last 2019 polls.
