Governor Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has thrown his weight behind the presidential bid of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Fintiri’s declaration of support for Atiku comes amidst controversies in the PDP over the zoning of the presidential ticket.
Gov Fintiri observed in Abuja, Wednesday, 23rd March, that Atiku, who would contest for the presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, is the best of all the presidential aspirants under all the political parties in the country.
The governor expressed the readiness of Adamawa State to pool all its political resources towards the realization of the Atiku presidential bid.
Atiku, an indigene of Adamawa State, was the vice president of the country under the President Olusegun Obasanjo-led PDP government between 1999 and 2007.
He was the PDP presidential candidate in 2019.
Apart from Atiku Abubakar, members of the PDP who have joined the 2023 presidential race, include Pius Anyim, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Dele Momodu and Sam Ohuabunwa.
