As the 2023 general elections approach, the ruling APC in Zamfara State has continued to beef up its top-notch membership to enable it maintain control of the state.
The immediate past Provost of the state’s College of Health Sciences, Tsafe, Mohammed Idris Gusau and the retired Director Pharmaceutical Services of the State Ministry of Health, Pharmacist Isah Mohammed, have formally picked up their membership cards of the party.
The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Yusuf Idris Gusau, who announced this in a statement, did not, however, say whether the duo decamped from any other party or not.
Immediately after joining the APC, they were led to the state party secretariat by the state Commissioner of Health, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar MC, and further taken to the governor by the party Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, for formal declaration.
They told the governor that they joined the APC due to the exemplary leadership offered by Governor Matawalle, which accelerated the development of the state.
They said after their formal declaration to the governor and the party, they will go to their respective wards to inform their hundreds of supporters of the decision and the need for more support to the Matawalle-led administration.
They assured the governor and the party leadership of their unwavering loyalty to both the party for the betterment of the state.
They thanked the governor and the party leadership for the warm reception accorded them.
In his response, Governor Matawalle the duo not see themselves as new comers but as members working for the unity, growth and development of the state and the party.
