The APC-led administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has suffered another major setback, as one of his senior aides, Hon. Yushau Yakubu Danauta, resigned his appointment today.
Danauta, who was the Senior Special Assistant (ll) to the Governor on Public Communication, dropped his resignation letter to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.
“With due respect and honour, I wish to by this letter, tender my resignation from my position of Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Communication to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe).
I wish to thank the government of Gombe State for the support accorded to me while I office.” The letter reads.
Hon. Danauta is the fourth aide of the governor to resign in this February.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment Programme, Hajiya Dijatu Bappah, her counterpart on Inter-Governmental Relations, Alhaji Garba Jijji, and Chairman Gombe State Sports Commission, who was also Governor Yahaya’s returning officer in 2015 and 2019 elections resigned their respective appointments earlier in February.
In November 2021, Commissioner of Environment and Forestry Affairs, Dr. Hussaina Danjuma Goje also resigned her appointment barely 24 hours after her father, Sen. Danjuma Goje came under attack by thugs suspected to be loyalist of Governor Yahaya.
