Ahead of the 2023 general elections, APC front-liners in Zamfara State feuding with the state governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, have begun to lose their campaign tools to the governor.
One of them, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, has lost his campaign tool, a house-to-house awareness creation group to boost his popularity across the state, to Governor Matawalle.
The Hajiya Hadiza Rufai-led 14,000-member group says it is now in the service of the governor and the the State APC Chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani.
Members of the Marafa Gida-Gida flooded the State Secretariat of the party, with Hajiya Hadiza alleging that Sen. Marafa was using the group for his “selfish interest” and also to disunite the party in the state.
The house-to-house chief csmpaigner praised what she described as the competence and purposeful People-oriented leadership of Gov. Matawalle, especially his various women support programmes being executed under the office of the First Lady of the state as well as his workable initiatives in the fight against armed banditry and other heineous crimes, the brunt of which, she maintained, is suffered by women.
She therefore urged all women in the state to continue to support and pray for the success of the Matawalle-led administration and Tukur Umar Danfulani chairmanship of the APC in the state for continuity and progress in the state.
Welcoming them, the APC Chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, expressed gratitude to Allah for guiding the group to realize the “good intentions” of the Matawalle-led administration and the effort of the APC leadership to bring all members to one big united family.
