The immediate past coordinator of National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) in Gombe State, Muhammad Bello Santuraki has announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Santuraki participated in the primary elections for the House of Representatives, Akko federal constituency under APC in 2018, and in 2020, appointed as coordinator of NALDA project in Gombe state by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Santuraki recieved his PDP membership card in Akko LGA PDP secretariat in Kumo, his country home, and was accompanied to the venue by thousands of his supporters amid cheering solidarity songs on Saturday.
Speaking during the event, Santuraki stated that he voluntarily resigned from the APC and the Inuws-led government because he is not satisfied with some policies and actions of the government, which according to him, contravened the principle of democracy and are not masses oriented.
He added that that he chose the PDP because it remains the only viable option for the masses. He promised to work so assiduously to ensure that the party win elections at all levels in 2023.
The PDP Chairman in Kumo centre and other leaders of the party, received the defectors and presented them with the party’s membership cards.
He called on the people of the state to cooperate with the party to defend democracy.
