Jos north-north constituency is of the Plateau state house of assembly. Plateau is a cosmopolitan city in Nigeria with diverse ecthnic nationalities.
As the 2023 elections draw near, the constituency needs a fresh breed that is politically, morally and educationally sound who will consolidate on the current relative peace being enjoyed by the citizens.
One of such glaring and promising youth and optimist who is willing to change the ugly narratives is Muhammad Shafi’u Yakub. He is a Director/Provost of Sahlan College of Health Technology Jos that is rated as one of the fastest growing and best private colleges of health in the country. Many people opine that if a youth like him can head a tertiary institution and took it to greater height, then he should be called upon to represent his people in the assembly where his ideas are most needed for the development of the state.
He was born 40 years ago in Jos north local government area of plateau state. He started his primary education at Islamiyya Pilot Science Primary and later went to School for Higher Islamic Studies Jos for his Secondary School education. He has diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the famous Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and later to Bayero University Kano where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Shafiu’s admiration for his people, leadership and services to humanity started at tender age having served as Head boy, President JETs club School for Higher Islamic Studies, Assistant Secretary General National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS),Welfare Officer National Association of Mathematical Sciences Students ,Secretary General Jos Students Consultative Forum (JOSCOF) and was a President of S.H.I.S Old Students Association Bayero University Kano respectively. He also a serving Jos Center Detachment Leader of First Aid Group of JIBWIS, National Secretary General Internet Media Committee of JIBWIS,National Commandant: Diffa Squadron of JIBWIS , Provost Sahlan School of Health Technogy and
MD/CEO Simple Standard School Jos.
He worked in different fields of human endevours and has added to his archives countless working experience that will make his work as law maker in the Plateau state house of assembly representating the good people of Jos north-north come 2023. He was an instructor at Horizon Information Technology Institute)

He is also an intellectual having published a number of publications, paramount among is Impact of Ecthno-religious Conflicts on Livelihoods that gave details on causes and proffered solutions on the long artificial wall of ecthnic and religious conflicts in Jos north and Plateau state in general. Mallam Shafiu has for decades potrayed himself as someone who believed that it is only when justice fairness and equity are used as an arbitrary of governance that peace, unity and development will strive in Jos north-north constituency hence the need to join the race to contribute with his wealth of experience in legislation. There is no doubt if elected, he can facilitate development for the constituency.

peace and security, education, healthcare improvement, infrastructural development and youth empowerment.

He has used the scarce resources in ensuring that spread of deadly killer diseases like the HIV/AIDS are mitigated by training number of Saloon Barbers and their likes in the heart of Jos. He has been supporting schools, religious organisations and communities through cash and kind donations. As a benificiary of scholarships in the past. He has enlisted a number students on scholarship most especially orphans at Sahlan College of Health Technology Jos.
As a firm believer in creating of Jobs opportunities for the teaming graduates in Jos North, He has created employment opportunities through Sahlan School of Health Technology, Simple Standard School Jos, SAHLAN Bread,SAHLAN fish Farm,Sahlan table Water and SAHLAN Integrated System to both Christians and Muslims who joyfully have a take home to cartered for their families. He is a Communicator per Excellence and a man who’s fundamental strides is acknowledged in his per Second per second in Jos North-North Constituency and if elected there is no doubt the less privileged will have in their table the best Representation in history. This is the true testimony of this servant of the people whom I have worked closely with and deviot of my tribe and religion there is no time he has ever shown me any sign of difference.
