Former Governor of Gombe state, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, had a brush with death in Gombe, Friday, 5th November, 2021.
Goje, who represents Gombe Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, was attacked by armed thugs in an alleged assassination attempt on him on his way to Gombe town from the Gombe International Airport, Lawanti.
It was not clear as at reporting time whether the thugs were sponsored or not, or who sponsored them, but Daylight Reporters could recall that a cold war has been raging between the senator and the incumbent Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
An eye witness told Daylight Reporters that the Gombe State Youths Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Kawu Lero, was arrested in connection with the attack.
Unconfirmed reports say a life was lost and several people sustained injuries in the attack.
In a picture obtained by Daylight Reporters, a deep cut was seen on the window screen of the Goje’s car.
