The Bauchi state police command has disclosed that it arrested 19 suspected armed robbers and many other suspects linked to different crimes including kidnappings and unlawful possession of fire arms.
Commissioner of police of the state command Abiodun Alabi disclosed this Friday while briefing newsmen on the operations carried out by the police in the state from the month August 2021 to date.
He explained that six of the suspected armed robbers were nabbed on August 2nd in Kandahar area of the Bauchi metropolis adding that the suspects attacked two houses at Alkaleri local government with cutlasses and robbed the occupants of the sum of N2 million and four handsets.
The commissioner noted that other suspects include; Yahaya Ibrahim of Fadaman mada quarters of Bauchi metropolis alongside his accomplices Aminu Ibrahim and Umar Ibrahim who allegedly robbed some residents of two laptop computers, motorcycle and three android phones.
Alabi added that within the period under review, police arrested one Munkaila Abdullahi who allegedly hit a commercial motorcyclist on the head with a stone and carted away with his vehicle.
Aside the armed robbers, the police commissioner said they apprehended a suspected kidnappers namely; Ibrahim Adamu, Musa Musa, Buhari Mahanga and Isah Magama for allegedly raiding the house of one Alhaji Abdullahi Abdullahi of Toro local government, shot him kidnapped his two wives and collected the sum of N1, 200, 000 million as ransom.
The commissioner of police assured that all the suspected criminals arrested would be charged to court after investigation.
