The newly appointed Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Modibbo Abdulkadir Ahmed on Thursday morning says the ministry will come up with new strategies in a bid to improve internally generated revenue of the state.
The Commissioner made this known when he received the affairs of the ministry on the assumption of office amidst warm reception by the management of the ministry.
Modibbo Ahmed said aside improving the revenue base of the state, the ministry will renew it partnership and collaboration with stakeholders aimed at accessing more income and interventions.
“Once again, I want to thank our Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed my boss for this opportunity and to assure him of my total loyalty and commitment towards the success of his administration.”
“I seek for prayers, support and cooperation of stakeholders to enable me carry out his duty effectively as we are determined to ensure things go well especially improvement in IGR and other sources of income of our state.”
The Commissioner who promised to operate an open door policy, pleaded with people of the state not to relent in supporting and praying for the governor to enable him succeed in the task ahead.
Earlier, the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Husaini Rilwanu while welcoming the Commissioner assured of the support of both management and members of the staff for effective service delivery.
Husaini Rilwanu said the ministry in particular was mandated to generate all revenues from various sources, disbursing funds for development projects and service delivery as approved by the State Executive Council.
The Chairman of Jamaare Local Government, Samaila Yusuf who spoke on behalf of Jamaare community, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for finding Modibbo Ahmed worthy to be appointed as Commissioner for Finance.
