Ahead of the 2023 general election, former governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has met with former members of the state executive council who served under his administration from 2011 to 2019.
Daylight Reporters learnt that, the meeting which was held in Abuja residence of the former governor, was not unconnected with the preparation for the 2023 general election.
According to a source who craved anonymity, the Commissioners met with their former boss to affirm their loyalty and readiness to work with him to wrest power from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in the upcoming 2023 general election.
“We met for the first time since we left office in 2019 to discuss issues bothering the progress of our great party, the PDP and also to reiterate our firm commitment and determination to take back Gombe from the APC led administration”
“His Excellency has confirmed to us that the visit is a morale booster and it has confirmed to him that we are ready to take the challenge ahead of us.
“He assured us that he’ll do all things possible to make sure that PDP win in Gombe at all the stages of the next coming general election as long as we remain united,” the source said.
Recall that PDP lost virtually all the elective positions in the 2019 general election with the exception of four out of the twenty four state house of assembly seats in the state.
