Gombe based business mogul and philanthropist, Bala Bello Tinka on Saturday began the distribution of sum of N50 million to the poor and less privileged in Gombe.
Tinka said he came up with the cash grant in order to alleviate the hardship currently being experienced in the country.
The financial support targeted at around 5,000 beneficiaries, is to be carried out through religion-based organisations across the state.
The first batch of the distribution started with disbursement of N10 million to 1,000 beneficiaries under Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah NHQ Jos, JIBWIS Nigeria, Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Tijjaniya and Salafiyya centers in the state.
Represented at the distribution exercise by his aide, Bala Sani Isa, Tinka explained that the exercise which would be in phases is a continuous process, as the second phase which is coming in the nearest future, will target another 10,000 less privileged.
Bala Tinka is well known for his sponsorship of students into secondary and tertiary institutions, building schools and mosques and assisting the less privileged members of the society.
