It’s disheartening to learn that the latest bandits attacks claimed the lives of 15 police officers in Zamfara state. It’s becoming obvious that the terrorist outnumbered and outgunned our security forces. Terrorist carrying sophisticated weapons at will to attack security formations and sacking villages is incomprehensible. We must not allow nonstate actors to keep challenging the sovereignty of our country in such an embarrassing and humiliating manner.
The general rise in average level of all prices can be traced to the actions of some unscrupulous groups that shoo farmers away from their farmlands resulting food crisis and a costpush inflation. Therefore, achieving food security would remain a pipe dream without eradicating the terrorists who continue to wreak havoc on our farmlands and villages.
Security is everyone’s business, and we must all work together to ensure the safety of our communities and country in general. However, the Nigerian security agencies should as a matter of urgency buck the trend because, their old system isn’t working. New ideas, innovation and superior forces must be applied to completely subdue the activities of these heartless terrorists.
My heart goes to the family of those who lost their lives unnecessarily in the hands of criminal elements who continue to challenge the sovereignty of our dear nation. May God comfort the families of our fallen heroes and may peace reign in our country.
