Former Governor of Jigawa State and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido has commended the South-East Governors for distancing themselves against the agitations of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a separatist group in support of independence for the former breakaway Republic of Biafra.
In a post on his Facebook profile, Lamido commended the courage of the governors to condem the activities of the group and stand for one and united Nigeria.
“This is what is called leadership. Thank you for having the courage to stand for Nigeria. We shall overcome and Nigeria will prevail.” He said.
Earlier, Daylight Reporters reports that South East Governors’ Forum in a meeting on Sunday in Enugu, distanced themselves from the agitations of the IPOB and frowned on the violence that ensued which led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties.
