Is just like yesterday that we celebrated the emergence of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya as elected governor of our dear state. Two years down the line half of his tenure is gone, scoring him at this time will not be like we rushed him, at least we have taken time to understand the direction of his administration. While we commend and acknowledge his steadfast and commitment towards executing laudable infrastructural projects and maintaining peace and order in the state, we are of the opinion that much need to be done in areas of public trust, accountability, transparency in governance, sincerity of purpose, avenues for job creation and avoidance of reckless spendings.
At this point, we can say his administration and style of leadership comes to many of us as a surprise, because the governor whom we perceived to be business oriented have not done so well in transforming the fortune of the state in to a business hub, but rather, channeling his business ideas towards giving out questionable bogus contracts with outrageous amount which compel many including his ardent supporters to have a rethink on whether thats where his business orientation lies or he will still apply it to drive the state forward to the promise land of self reliance in remaining years of his tenure.
Although on 9th june 2021, the governor was on NTA where he enlightened us more on activities of his administration such as wawa-zange reserve, the proposed industrial hub and others, but on a serious note actions doesn’t match with words. Half of our hope to become a reference business state in Nigeria under this administration was dashed out but we are still looking forward and hoping not to be wrong about our perception of a business oriented governor having all what it takes to change the fortune of our dear state.
