The village head of Tongo in Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State, Alhaji Buba Ardo Tongo, has commended the Member representing Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo, for quality representation of his people.
This, he said in an interview with newsmen in his palace in Tongo. Ardo said Hon. Tongo has performed very well in terms of physical development and youth and women empowerment.
The traditional ruler added that the lawmaker had never forgotten his community since when he was a councillor up to now that he became the representative of three LGAs in the green chamber.
“Hon. Yaya Bauchi has not forgotten us since he was elected as our representative. He has been doing very well since he was Councillor. His performance qualified him to be elected as Chairman of Funakaye LGA, and later member of the Gombe State House of Assembly and now member Federal House of Representatives.”
Appreciating the numerous developmental projects being executed by the lawmaker in the community, the monarch said” Hon. Yaya Bauchi has brought numerous developmental projects to us. He has facilitated the establishment of a befitting ICT centre as well as Cottage Hospital which helped immensely in addressing the health needs of the people of this area. He provided over 10 motorized boreholes in different locations with overhead tanks and reticulation works to various streets in the town. He constructed two blocks of six classrooms and another two blocks of four classrooms in our Junior and Senior secondary schools respectively. He also built a modern library for reading and research works. He has done a lot and we thank him for all that he did.”
The traditional ruler appealed to the community members to protect and maintain the projects and ensure that they are not abandoned or vandalised.
Also speaking, a youth leader in the community, Alh. Yaya Kwatano, commended Hon. Yaya Bauchi for positively touching the lives of youth and women in the area.
Kwatano said Hon. Yaya Bauchi has been entrusted with leadership positions at various levels and have demonstrated great capacity to deliver, noting that they will continue to support him to succeed.
Hon. Yaya Bauchi has given the people of Tongo in particular and the entire constituency at large, qualitative and purposeful representation. He has put food on the tables of many people. Thousands of youths who benefited from his various empowerment programs can now take care of themselves and their respective families. This is unprecedented in the history Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Constituency.” He said
