. . . CP Akwa Ibom Restates IGP’s Commitment To Welfare Of Retired, Serving Personnel
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, has commenced the 2nd phase of the nationwide registration and capturing of retired Police Officers in the ongoing enrolment of retired Police Officers on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The exercise is aimed at ensuring that all retired Police Officers (including spouses), anywhere in the country, irrespective of rank, is not left out from having full access to all NHIS services and benefits covered by the Police Health Maintenance Organization (Police-HMO)
The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State, CP AMIENGHEME ANDREW, fdc, psc, assured that, on the instruction of the IGP, the exercise will be conducted at the various Police Area Commands in the State, which are; UYO, IKOT EKPENE, EKET, ORON, ETIM EKPO AND ITU/IBION IBOM AREA COMMANDS. He therefore requests all retired Police Officers (each with a spouse), who were not captured during the 1st phase of the exercise to visit any Police Area Command closest to them within the State with;
(1) Letter of Retirement.
(2) Retiree’s I.D Card.
The registration/capturing exercise is scheduled to commenced on Monday, 15th March, 2021 – Thursday, 18th March, 2021 across the six (6) Area Commands in the State.
The CP notes that the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni* is passionate about the welfare of retired Police Officers. He further assured that the Police High command will continue to do all within its powers, in collaboration with relevant State Actors and Institutions, to address all pending issues surrounding the general welfare of our esteemed Senior Citizens who undoubtedly dedicated their youthful days and energy to the service of the nation.
Let it be noted, that the registration and services provided under this scheme is absolutely at no cost and without any form of deduction whatsoever from retirees’ monthly pension.
Therefore, all retired Police Officers who are yet to be captured on the Scheme, are advised to take optimum advantage of the 2nd phase exercise which will avail them affordable healthcare services in retirement.
