Four suspected armed robbers said to have been terrorising some parts of Lagos State have been arrested by the police.
It was gathered that the suspects, Suleiman Babajide, Mustapha Michael, Daniel Gideon and Olalekan Adesina, were arrested on Tuesday around 12am by policemen from the Alakuko Police Station and some members of the community.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Wednesday that the suspects had been terrorising residents of Amje bus stop, Ajegunle, Moshalasi and Dalemo communities.
Adejobi noted that one locally-made pistol with four life cartridges was recovered from the suspects.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, for a thorough investigation, while he charged other police stations and operatives in the command to make Lagos uncomfortable for criminals and miscreants to operate or hibernate, particularly during the ember months,” Adejobi stated.
Meanwhile, the CP, Hakeem Odumosu, on Wednesday, urged the policemen in the state to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
Odumosu, according to the statement, gave the charge during an engagement with some personnel of the command on improved service delivery and policing the state, especially during the festive period.
