Osun united Football club has started the process of reviewing the status of its old players; an effort aiming at knowing the ownership structure of the players that belongs to the club.
According to the club Vice President, Mr Vincent Akinbami ,the previous management had done a good job, away from the practice they met in terms of the club having ownership of its players.
” My president, Chief Ademola Adeshina, Team manager Kabiru Adekunle and other board members, started a good job last season, but as a new member on board, we need to be on the same page to regulate the ownership structure for a new season.
“Like we all know, players contract are intangible asset and need to be valued in terms of figures and placed in the balance sheet of the clubs financial statement at the end of the year,” Akinbami explained.
He assured that gradually, the club will put up a good structure with the support of the governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, House Committee on Sport, Commissioner for Sport, Mr Yemi lawal , Special Adviser to governor on sport Alhaji Aremu Adelabu among other stakeholders.
“Our mission is clear, run the club professionally, challenges will be met, but we will overcome.
“We are happy that the Nigeria National League Board and LMC through the demands of NFF and Ministry of Sport are beginning to make demands for measures that will make our football clubs run professionally.
